4 – Basil

Today is the 4 year anniversary of my first date with Basil. When we were texting about the anniversary yesterday, he wrote to me:

“I knew when I met you that you could accomplish anything you want.”

When I met Basil, I was not very good at believing in myself and seeing my own potential. After he wrote that to me, I thought about how his quiet confidence in my abilities and his unwavering support have, over the past four years, helped me grow and achieve things in my life I would have never before dreamed to be possible.

I am not sure what greater gift I could ask for from my spouse. (I got him coffee and organic croissants–hardly seems fair.)

Here’s to Basil, my old man: thank you for making me see the value in myself through your love and sage counsel. I adore you.
